Epic Battle Layout Help....
« on: April 24, 2006, 05:55:38 AM »
Hey all!

I just received my Epic Battle this morning.

Here are the specs:

15.01 lbs
3 to 3.5 inch pin
3.82 top

The top weight is the only thing i don't like. It limits me to
shifting the MB way out. I want to use this ball for heavy oil.
I was thinking of putting the pin over my ring finger and the MB
3 inches out but since the top is high there would be too much side
weight to take out.

What do you guy think?

Top weight....I'm not sure....but what I saw that didn't make sense was....

Heavy oil ....pin OVER ring finger ? I"m a tweener too, and I'd use this ball with a pin at least even w/ my ring and adjust the surface...once you get your mb location worked out, etc,etc....

I know what you mean Jeff. Yes i usually drill
pin under ring or bridge when i want the ball to rev up
earlier but everyone has been telling me this ball is pretty strong.
So i assume i could put the pin over.

How much should i shift?

From your experience, how much oil can this ball handle?

Does the Battle have a strong arc reaction or skid flip?

I was told by a RotoRep to try pitching the Xhole away from the grip. I was told to go 1.5" away. He said after experimenting with this, it gave the Battle 5 boards more total hook.

Pitching the Xhole allows u to keep the weightblock intact.

It sounds a lil crazy but I tried it and it rolls great! mine is pin under ring, MB is 3" right of the thumb, the Xhole is 5.5" straight over with a 1.5" pitched away from my grip.

Thanks Garcia.

So i laid it out like how yours is, i would need a big hole.

I usually like to drill my wieght holes deep at least 3 inches to touch the core of the ball. With a 3.82 ounce of top don't you think i would have at 2 ounces of side if i did have the pin either pin under ring with the MB kicked
out 2-1/2 to 3 inches?

To pitch out the weight hole 1.5 inches i would keep the Up and Down pitch zero and pitch away 1.5 (away from span) correct?

JNg,

yeah if u go straight over with the Xhole, keep the upNdown pitch Zero. Mine has a big Xhole too, i think its 1 1/64" hole, 2 3/4" deep. it rolls really strong.
