Best drill pattern for the Cell at USBC Open last year
« on: February 15, 2009, 08:59:56 PM »
What was the preferred drill pattern for the Cell at the USBC Open last year?  I would like to buy one this year before I go to Vegas and am thinking of trying the 5x3 B pattern.  I will rarely, if ever get to use this ball in leauge because of the dry conditions, so I would really like to set up the Cell for tournament conditions.  My stats are: PAP up .5" and over 3.75", 30 degree axis rotation, low axis tilt, high revs, and 16.5 mph ball speed.

One other question.  During a recent college tournament at my home center, one of the college bowler's Cell had a chunk taken out near their PAP.  The ball only had four games on it and the Bowling Center agreed to buy the kid a new ball.  Anyway, the damaged Cell was easily repaired and they are asking $100 drilled.  Is it worth it or would I be better off with a new ball?  It was originally drilled stacked leverage, but I would rather have it 5x3 B.
