Epic Odyssey.....

Hi all! I've had a good chance to own an Epic Odyssey. I'd like some suggestions as to where it'll fit in my arsenal since I already have a Cell as my heavy oiler and the Secret Agent and Shift for medium shots. I was thinking of leaving it at 2000 Abralon with a coat of polish just to give me that extra bit of length. I'm a stroker with around 16 - 17 mph of speed, around 230 RPMs and like to play straight up the boards. Not sure about my PAP though, axis tilt and the rest of those "vital" statistics. Maybe, if you have some suggestions for a layout based on my style of play, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I picked up a used Odyssey last year and after a couple of drillings ended up with a 50 degree layout with the pin located up and between the fingers (about a 3" pin buffer).
5" Pin to PAP
3" CG to PAP
4" MB to PAP
My preference is to play up the boards like yourself but I have a tad more speed than you have. I didn't really like the reaction of the ball until I touched it up with some bean sauce. I'm assuming that it was using up it's energy to fast.

I have a Cell drill similarly but with a 2.5" pin buffer, OOB also with bean sauce and they are very different. The Cell reads the midlane much better because it doesn't over react and the backend is so even and smooth where for me the Odyssey has a much stronger move on the backend as long as it doesn't expend the energy to soon.

I know everyone is different but I hope my comparison can be helpful. // Jim

Hey, Jim! Many thanks for your input! I think I'll go ahead with your suggestions. Been wanting to try the layout that you mentioned, but just din manage to get round to it. Hope this goes well for me! Good luck with your Roto equipment! King of 'Em All! :-)
