Roto Grip Cell vs. Storm Dimension

I'm trying to decide between the 2 and I've heard different things.  I'm looking for some pros and cons of each ball.  If anybody has thrown both I'd like to know which ball they would recommend.  I'm a 210 Avg. fast thrower w/ medium revs.  I've mostly thrown Hammer recently ( Black Widow and BW Venom ) and I'm ready to make a switch.  Any comments would be helpful.  Thanks.

hey i've thrown both balls with the same pin placement and MB placement etc, and the cell is much much much much stronger!!!! on a 39ft house shot (i'm left handed, medium pace, medium revs):

Dimension: standing 16 playing 12-5

Cell: standing 25 playing 18-5

there really is no comparison, and the cell copes with higher oil volumes a lot better also.

The Dimension is the new version of the Cell. The Cell starts up earlier and is more even then a Dimension. Both pieces are very continuous off of the spot which is rare in a big piece. It's a personal preference on the shape you are looking for on the lane.

You are post leads me to think you are speed dominant, be sure to have your pro shop account for that with either ball so you are not throwing it through the window.

Thanks for all the great advice.  After researching a little more I think I'm leaning towards the cell but still undecided.  Anyone know how the life span on these 2 balls are?  I want to prolong the lifespan of my Hammers and future balls, any advice on the best way to do that?  I've heard of different products to apply to them and also soaking in dishsoap to help reduce the amount of oil in them.  Thanks for all the help.

I have not issues on the cell holding up but have given it hot water baths on two occasions now and oil just flowed out of the ball and these baths have came every 40 games!

The reaction is still there, just finding the cell, as well as almost every other high end ball any more, to be very high maintenance.

Sanded balls and oilers HAVE to be cleaned and the surface has to be refreshed periodically, no matter what manufacturer.  However, the Cell and the Dimension are both supposed to be longer life covers that absorb less oil according to the marketing info I've heard from Storm/Roto about them.

I have the Cell and my friend has the Dimension and we have similar spans so we can fit into each others equipment.  My Cell is drilled 4x4 with a 2" pin buffer and his is drilled almost the same but 4x3 with 2".  In My opinion if they were drilled the same, I think the Dimension hooks a tad more, maybe 4 boards but the hook is all on the back.  The Cell hooks earlier.  If you are bowling on a house shot or something without much backend, the Cell is a better choice...if you are dealing with longer patterns or carry down, The dimension is better.  Hopefully that helps.  GOOD LUCK!
