Haywire - adjustments
« on: December 08, 2015, 06:42:58 AM »
I am looking at making some adjustments to my Haywire. I just don't like the way it rolls. It does not have the consistent roll I am looking for. I have it still OOB. I don't really use it much at all. So I am looking at maybe putting polish - changing the cover and or putting polish on it. So I am looking at what you have done to yours?

Did you put any polish on it after? Also how does it react?

No polish.  Gave it better length. Still strong off spot.  Better for a medium to heavier house shot.

Thanks - My Lock has been my main ball most of the time, but I would like to have this ready, mainly for when there is carry down.

What's your method for doing this 4 step surface?  Do you do each pad for the same number of sides and at the same pressure?

Yes. I do everything 15sec. 4 sides.  Medium light pressure.  Like just resting the weight of my hand on it.

Thanks.  I have always done the "skip a grit" method, but I think I'll experiment a bit with a couple of older balls I don't use and give this a try to see how it goes.  Maybe it'll bring some life back to my Nomad and Mean Machine.
