Help with ball selection....

Condition: Seemingly good amount of oil on heads BUT backends so dry if oil were water a cockroach would die of thirst living on the leftside. My choices either the Sonic X solid or the Sonic X (pearl). Anyone have both or can let me know what the differences are please let me know.

The ball will depend on a lot more info:
- what is a "good amount of oil"?
- how long is it? (and, by inference, how long is the dry?)

these will determine how much ball you need. You could need anything from a Sonic to a Fuel.

Well charley, My choices are those two and those two alone. I would say the oil is not more than 38 ft with a medium oil. (around 35 - 40 units in the middle.)

I'd guess (due to the "medium" oil) that the Sonic may be enough, depending on how much hand/speed/tilt you have. I'd still be inclined to a more medium ball with a mild drilling, than a Sonic with a strong drilling. 38 ft is not short oil by any stretch.

Rantings,

Althought the Sonic X isn't flippy, it's flippier compared to the Solid version. I have the solid version and it's really smooth, and if you have super dry backends,.....the ball will move for you.  I've used this ball up 8 on a fresh medium shot with screaming backends....it works,......good luck
