Theory with polish

In league we never get fresh oil and follow a league of women. On this shot the ball goes straight. Burns up instantly. If I practice on frsh oil it will workbut any other time it is useless. I was thinking of trying polish so I can use it more. It is drilled pin up about 5.5 X 5.

Has anyone tried polish and if so what surface did you use under it.

I have used my Theory with polish, successfully. I was able to use it on a fresh, lite oil shot for the first game. My ball surface was 4000 abralon with 5 secs of polish. I threw five in a row before the ball started to burn up in the track and I began moving in. Good luck with yours!

I threw mine today in a practice session (Stock 2000 grit + Snake Oil polish) and it retained energy very nicely, while maintaining a mild arcing breakpoint. Carry percentage seemed fairly high on both wide hits that might have left a 7 pin and slightly wide hits where you might expect to leave a ringing 10 pin. I didn't even have to stand very deep, somewhere around 28 (for right hander).

 Now I wanna try it, we have a continuing month long drought of oil on wood lanes at one center...hope they dont attempt to start actually putting out a shot!

I would do 1000Ab,2000Ab,4000Ab, then polish it until you see your self in the ball. I did that to my most recent ThEoRy I drilled, and it work wonders getting down the lane and being not over reactive... Fits right between my pin down ThEoRys and my Mutant Cell Pearl that is at box condition an a 50 x 4 1/2 x 50 drilling.

Mine was checking up too early due to my fairly high rev rate, even on a little bit heavier pattern, so I polished it up. I didn't like mine with polish at all. It looked good rolling down the lane and still read the pattern, but didn't have the same continuation this ball is heralded for. At one point I actually left 4 consecutive 10 pins. Thought maybe the backends had some carry down so I tried another fairly polished ball (Wicked Siege, for what its worth) and it made the turn with ease. I truly think this ball needs to be sanded to do what its meant to do. I think polishing it killed it for me. Id try 4000 before polishing, then if you do decide to polish it I'd sand it to 1000 or so, then polish over that so it still has some bite.

Some balls can be tricky. Surface is often related to drilling. Some drillings can use polish, some are better with finer matte finishes. All are related to the bowler's speed, rev rate, tilt and rotation PLUS the amount of oil and the lane surface. It can be a simple or a complex balancing act. 
 
If the WS seemed to make the turn, maybe you need a lighter polish over the stock 2000 grit, or a heavier polish over 1000 grit surface?  Try some variables.
 
Mine at 2000 + a medium non-abrasive polish seems to be good with either a deep inside but tight line, or a less deep line with more overall hook. I'm still adjusting to its characteristics.
