Horizon Solid - Initial Impressions
« on: December 22, 2006, 02:55:54 AM »
I've had the opportunity to throw this ball for a few games and I'm very impressed with it.  I'll post a review on this ball when I've had a chance to throw it a little more.  This ball does have a very strong midlane as advertised, but still has a pretty strong backend reaction.  This ball is great to control over/under conditions, kills longer oil patterns and carrydown.  A couple of weeks ago, just prior to my Sunday night league which is normally a pretty short oil pattern with messy backends because the laneman only reoils the heads prior to the start of league. Well on this night there was a birthday party with about 10-5 games worth of houseballs going down the middle of the lane.  The result was some really bad carrydown which wasn't letting any of my polished stuff turn the corner.  I left a 5-7 once and almost a 5-7-10, which rarely happens to me.  I broke out the Solid and killed the pins the rest of the night.  This ball is a winner in my book.
