The New Hustle Camo is the newest "solid" ball in the HP1 line. The Hustle Camo brings back the VTC solid reactive Coverstock to bring the ball more durability and more performance down lane as seen in previous Hustle line balls. The new army/black/brown color gives respect to our service men and women.  These colors will definitely pop out for those who are a veteran or currently serving our country. The layout I gave on this was 3 3/8 x 70 to give this ball earlier motion on the lanes then the 4 x 35 drilling currently on my Hustle PBR. This ball can be great for fresh house patterns or tournaments with shorter oil or less volume patterns.  The 1500 polish finish on this Camo is different from the 3000 abralon finish on the PBR.  This surface difference will give the ball a little more length while adding slightly more pop down lane than the PBR.   Removing the polish or adding more surface to the coverstock will enhance its more earlier rolling nature if you want it to handle more oil.

Well said TwoHands, this is how a review SHOULD be done. 

The Hustle line has been a staple in Roto Grip’s arsenal for a few years one. Hustle core has an RG of 2.53 and Diff of 0.030 and is a cool looking Army/Black/Brown color giving it the Camo look it’s called. It is the solid shinny version of the VTC cover. I drilled mine 6 x 5.5 x 2 and my purpose behind this was to give me a higher RG layout on a ball I intend to use on shorter patterns after the lanes transition from urethane. After throwing is ball for a little while I was quite impressed. I was able to move in on a shorter pattern and throw it towards the gutter and it never overrated. It was clean through the front part of the lane but pretty smooth on the back. I will be able use this ball mostly on shorter patterns after urethane is exhausted and maybe on some medium length patterns that don’t have a ton of volume to them.

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.  I even noted that I was sarcastic.  Whats wrong with you and since when are short pin layouts outdated?  Other than you, who made that determination?  It would be one thing if this was an average league bowler that wasnt well versed in giving reviews but this is a staff guy.  So as someone who takes the sport a little more seriously; I would like to know more about what the ball actually did and not what it can do because we pretty much already know what it can do.  AND....as someone who comes on here and helps others regularly; I am well beyond "myself".

Just to throw a little more fuel on this burning feud(cause that's how I roll  ), I know quite a few "staffers" in my area who couldn't accurately describe the virtues of a bowling ball if their life depended on it.


One thing is for sure, being "on staff" doesn't mean shit about the persons knowledge of bowling balls or even bowling in general.


And yes, I have made critical comments on reviews that were just ridiculous, because hypocrisy, when it suits me, is also how I roll.  [/size][size=78%] [/size]

 Guy here had the shop for a while. Averaged about a buck eighty, but was “on staff”.

It’s not based on talent, it’s based on your ability to move units (sell stuff ).

Hustle Camo

The Hustle Camo is a perfect replacement for the Ink.  It is very clean through the front but doesn't over-bounce off of the friction.  It makes a smooth, controllable, yet continuous ball motion once it sees friction.  Don't be afraid to get the surface matched up to how you bowl and the amount of friction in your bowling center.  This ball for me is a nice compliment to the PBR, if that one gets too early and lazy, this one I'm able to pick up where I left off.  Another hit for Roto Grip!
