Hustle Ink vs Match Up Hybrid?
« on: November 16, 2017, 06:06:23 AM »
Just curious how these two compare? Looking for opinions from people who have thrown both. Looking for something to ball down to when the NRP is too much. Thank you all :)

They're pretty similar in terms of total hook, they just shape differently.  The Ink revs a little stronger but is smoother on the back, the Hybrid is a little cleaner down the lane and at the breakpoint.  Hybrid shape is closer to the NRP shape if you want a similar look but less hook.

Thank you Luke. Knew I could depend on you. My driller says the Ink is on backorder. Was thinking the Hybrid as a step down. :)

Luke,

Would the Allout Show off or Matchup Hybrid be better for this step down? Thanks

Todd

I have a question, Tloy.  Do you need to ball down because the cover is too much on the NRP, or is the core too much? Are you trying to stay in a certain zone on the lanes or chasing left and can't get the NRP to go around the corner the correct way?

The correct ball down choice depends quite a bit on how you are attacking the transition.

Valid questions here.  I am tending more and more to just compare ball to ball regardless of other circumstances because transition won't happen the same from week to week and from house to house because lanes are different, the teams you bowl are different, and the one thing that always really screwed me was trying to have a plan because most of the time it wouldn't exactly go right.  He knows the specifics though, so I've begun to just compare ball reaction and let the person figure it out from there because they know their game and what they're after and I don't.

Again, these are valid and important questions, just explaining why I didn't ask them, and also why I didn't make a recommendation either.

LOL.  Luke, not pointing a finger or raising an eyebrow at you.
After I read the question and his follow up question, I asked myself what I would normally look for if I had to move off of my NRP, and my thought process left me with those questions.
The ball choices he asked about are all legit possibilities depending on the local situation. I don't know either, and I wondered if he had considered whether it was more cover driven or core driven.
In my case, I always have to watch my ball through the pins to decide what part of the motion I need to change to keep the carry fairy in the house.
Cheers!

Sorry guys for the confusion. To answer LukeM's question I am bowling on a 5 man league where some of the guys are throwing aggressive equipment that totally destroys the pattern. By the 3rd game I have balled down to a Shatter pin down and shooting under my average. I have been using a NRP drilled 60 x 3 3/8 ( pin through ring) x 60 with limited success. Looking for something to play the burn when the pattern breaks down. Don't have quite enough hand to move inside and play around , plus have one guy on our team that insists on using Urethane and pushes the oil down to create an out of bounds... All equipment and stats in profile :) Thank you
