I own two Hustle Inks and I took the pin up one and took it to 2000 and I believe it made it an even better ball. My pin down is 1000 polished and between the two I haven't used anything but these two balls the last three weeks. This has allowed me to pretty much play straight up 7-8 board and then bump in a bit as the night went on. At box finish I felt they were a bit too flippy for my liking. The Ink's are two of my favorite balls over the last couple of years. I believe I'm going to be dropping down to 14lb over the summer, and my first 2 balls are going to be another Ink and a hybrid Ink.

For those that have used the INK with surface, where/when do you throw it? A better way to put it is the surfaced INK the first ball out of your bag or a step down from something else? Really appreciate the info thus far.

My next step is to put surface on mine. Just haven't decided what yet. OOB it's too hard off friction and forces you deeper creating angle issues. The lower diff runs out of punch and you leave back row pins.

This is exactly the issue I had with mine; BUT it was that way at ANY finish I put on it. Gave it to my cousin, and he has KILLED with it once the heads blow up.

Yeah next step is for sale if I don't like it after surface change. I can use it, it's just that when it would be my go to I could do just as well if not better with the Hy-Road Pearl which I like more.

Plain and simple, the hp1 line is WAY TOO MUCH ball for the price; While some will take advantage of the amount of motion that they provide, unfortunately, it’s not performing what the intended target is for the line which is  ‘light oil conditions’.

Will never purchase a hp1 ball from Roto Grip.

That's the thing, don't buy an INK, HYB, or POW as a ball for light conditions. Buy it for what it actually is. And that's what I'm trying to get a feel for.  I'm thinking the HYB probably fits more of what I'm looking for, but I just can't ignore the hype of the INK either.

I don’t disagree with either post..... While I’m not knocking the hp1 line it is great ( we all know that in ANY LINE your typically gonna get more bang for the buck)  it’s still tough when you need a specific type of motion, and it’s hard to find with SO many options as it is, It makes finding that type of performance that much harder. 


Take it with a grain of salt, BUT remember at the same time guys that for EVERY numbers of balls that give you more than you expect, you’ll ALWAYS have your IQ’s and venom’s/ dare devil tricks  that are EUQALLY AS IMPORTANT as any other ball that’s designed.
