Hustle RAP
« on: July 08, 2020, 09:54:50 PM »
Out of the box, I noticed one thing, this Hustle is DIFFERENT. There are some pearl balls that are slightly smoother on the back end and they allow you to play right of the solid balls. Likewise, there are some balls that boomerrang so much downlane, they force you left of the solid balls in order to try to stabilize the reaction. The Hustle RAP is in the latter category. While filming the video, I missed the move several times because I couldn’t comprehend how strong the RAP is downlane. This ball will be good for the last game of league when the track is burnt or at the end of a long tournament block. You can utilize this piece when there is a hook spot and all you want to do is throw your ball to that spot and watch the pins fly. Like the PBR, the Hustle RAP feels stronger than the Hustles in the past. It could easily fit into the HP2 line. In terms of specific players that would like this ball, I think the players with the heavy hand and heavy end over end roll will love this piece. For those players, the RAP is angular enough that it won’t miss the spot downlane like some pearls can do and it will continue through the pins hard. This ball will boomerang for the heavy handed players and it goes without saying that it will boomerang for players like me who twirl it more!

Roto Grip Hustle RAP
Layout – 45 x 4 ¾ x 30
Super Clean and controllable.  This ball is the closest I’ve drilled to a Hustle INK, it is a bit cleaner and a bit more angular down lane.  It compliments the Hustle PBR very well, if that one gets too strong and feels a bit lazy in the back of the lane, the RAP will be cleaner and save more energy for the back end and through the pins.  Slower ball speeds, rev dominant players, bad lane surfaces, high friction centers, and late block is where this ball will excel!

The Hustle RAP is a new hybrid cover stock in the Hustle line. I drilled mine 5.5 x 5 x 3 and this ball is super clean and angular. It’s about 5 boards less than the Hustle PBR. This is going to be a ball I used later in league or later in tournaments when the front part of the lane starts to hook.

The new Hustle RAP brings a brand new pearl coverstock, the VTC P-20 that is considerably different than the popular Hustle Ink.  This ball will give you a more true skid flip motion similar to the idol pearl but a good step down from it.  Compared to the new Hustle PBR, the RAP is much cleaner and gives more pop down lane.  For a HP1 ball, you get a lot of performance out this.  For those who bowl on low volumes of oil, the Hustle line would be perfect for you.  The Hustle PBR would be great as a game 1 ball and the RAP compliments it well as a game 2 and/or 3 ball.  If you are a bowler who likes the lower performance skid flip ball reaction for your league, this is a great ball to get.

Brad Miller thinks the og Hy-Road is a pearl, not that those designations really matter anymore.
