Hy-Wire Climax
« on: January 04, 2017, 10:31:58 AM »
someone please say this is a US release

I have a Haywire and Hy-Wire drilled identical. They are a great pair for sport patterns, I'd love to add a pearl for the late games.

never mind, its more of Storm/RG tease crap (overseas only)

this pisses me off, so glad I decided to give a C300 Impulse a try over a Code Black

General reception would point towards the Code Black being the better of the two. Personally I love mine.

PhysiX
Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl
Phaze III
Trend
IQ Tour

I don't see how the Dare Devil would be any different than a Hy-Road Pearl

The C300 Impulse is a Hybrid Symmetric for medium oil and the Code Black is a Pearl Asymmetric for heavy oil, so I don't think they are a good comparison.

Sorry if I lead you to think I was comparing the two.
I had all intentions of getting a Code Black when I headed down to the Pro Shop, but at the last minute I decided to give C300 a try.

IMO, not by enough to warrant having both a DD and HR pearl

I've been trying to find a NIB Deranged, so I was excited when I saw the Hy-Wire Climax post this morning.

The Deranged would be closer to the Hyroad Pearl than a Dare Devil.

Hyroad Pearl always seemed to lope, every Dare Devil I've seen is fairly aggressive. I look at the Dare Devil as an Asylum that's cleaner and stronger in the back.

The people I know who loved the asylum love the Dare Devil

That makes a lot more sense to me. I was a little confused at first. I wish all of the companies would let us have the International Releases here. Lots of interesting core/cover combos.

Overseas only but I can get them here into the states.

More expensive, but if you can use it as an investment tool, it ain't bad at all... striking with something nobody else in the building has while getting paid in pots and brackets 8)

Hot-Wire and Demented are badass pieces too

Good for you... even though you made this thread post and began to wish. Once I helped state that the Hy-Wire Climax can be made available stateside you decide (all of a sudden) to throw Storm/Roto under the bus even after praising the Hay-Wire + Hy-Wire. Just saying...

For the record, as an unbiased ball collector of many brands, majority of all brands have product "overseas only" that (as a collector) has me scratching my head as to what is made available "out there" vs. what's made available here stateside.

If you ask me, I'd say USA is restricted to releases... overseas gets all the USA releases too for the most part

I'm not going to run out and dump all my RG/Storm stuff. I still think they produce quality equipment. But, I'm going to try and ignore my prior bias and try some other brands. This isn't the first time I've seen an overseas offering that I think would compliment my arsenal very well. But to pay 150% to 180% (drilled) of the price of a US release is not something I want to do.
