Roto Grip Hy-Wire or Storm Rocket Ship
« on: June 17, 2016, 09:32:32 AM »
I'm looking to get a new benchmark type ball for the upcoming season, something that would be first out of the bag every night. Between the two, which is better for that kind of smooth, house shot killer type reaction. I obviously know that the Hy-Wire is a hybrid and the Rocket Ship is a solid, but both are supposed to have easy length with a nice move in the mids and good continuation.

Any thoughts?

Let's discuss this. Hy-Wire is a polished hybrid and the Rocket Ship is a sheen 3000 abralon finished ball. So obviously the Rocket Ship is going to want to pick up a little earlier than the Hy-Wire. Hy-Wire is also a hybrid that is more pearl than solid composition so again longer and later move for the Hy-Wire.

Hy-Wire specs are 2.50/.43 which are more of a low-med RG and a med diff. Not the high end RG and diff specs but exactly what you want in more of a controllable higher end ball which the Hy-Wire is.

As far as fitting into the bag, Rocket Ship would be a good place to build an arsenal outwards from. R2S cover on a 2.54/.46 rg & diff ball. Dynamics that are closer to the middle of the road as 2.54 would be considered in the lower end of medium RG.

Right now I have the Rocket Ship staged in my bag as my benchmark but also my ball when I need the ball to pick up a little sooner in the mids than my medium cover balls. I also like to ball down to the Hy-Wire when I need some more push thru the mids but still need that good motion on the back that a pearl type ball provides.

If you can pick them both up, they would make a pretty good 1-2 punch in the middle of any arsenal.

Rocket ship is your answer...and I'm not a staffer...and I don't need 5 paragraphs.

I'd only say hy-wire IF you only bowled on wood Lanes, otherwise the ship is your best bet!!!
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
