I have a new league bowler on my team who is doing very well for his first league. (Bowled some at a much younger age)
The first ball he bought was a Disturbed last year (my rec) with the pin in the ring finger. When we practiced with it, the ball seemed flat. Of course he was speed dom and tracking small trying to hook it.
League started up at two different houses. He seemed to have a very small area for him. Miss right, stayed right....miss left slightly, no hold and off it went. At the main house, which is AMF Syn, lightly oiled heads and snappy back end, to me it was to much ball and not enough head oil where he had to play. He faired better at a house with Bruns Syn lanes, but still had no area.
I found him an Uproar and he was lazy to get it redrilled, but the few times he tried it in practice it looked really good for him.
Well now he is throwing the Uproar very well and has had 3 600 series in the past three weeks mainly with the Uproar. He likes to start off with the Disturbed (which I did a hand shine of Snake Oil about a month ago) and then move to the Uproar.
He wants his Disturbed to be like his Uproar but I keep trying to tell him that it arc's and it needs more oil, plus it's more of a controlled drilling where the Uproar is pin up just left of his center line and the CG kicked right and is a Backend ball that fits well at the AMF lanes as length is needed.
So, after all that.....thoughts on a ball up from the Uproar with a slight less snap then it would be?
I suggested (storm/roto line up) a Outcry, Fusion, or Hyroad. What about a true polished Disturbed at 2000 and Storm factory shine?
He is playing up the 10-12 board, specs are a guess right now but speed 18 off hand, revs 225 range, tilt 12-17, rotation about 40-50 and PAP about 4.5 slightly up.
Thanks
