Idol Cosmos
« on: July 05, 2022, 09:00:47 PM »
The ever so popular Idol line has been a hit since Roto Grip announced the original Idol in the HP3 line. This Ikon core ball is wrapped around the XtremeTrax pearl cover. This ball has a 4000 grit box finish. I drilled mine 5.5 x 5 x 3 and I will be comparing it to the ever so popular 900 Global Zen and my Idol Helios. Now my first few shots with this ball I actually had it very similar to my Zen. They kind of made the same shape and picked up the lane in similar parts. I feel like it revs up quick in the mid lane and makes a smooth motion towards the pocket. Now I normally hit my Zen with 2000 so if it was shinny I bet I would see more of difference in shapes. Now compared to my Helios the Cosmos is a little cleaner but the motions are similar. I can see myself using the Cosmos right after my Helios. It controls the mid lane really well and doesn’t over react in the dry.

Review

The Idol Cosmos is the newest pearl ball in Roto Grip Idol line. The Cosmos has the fan favorite Ikon Core with the Extreme Trax pearl reactive cover stock. That combination of cover and core make it great one two punch with Idol Helios. For me the Cosmos is a great replacement for the Storm Phaze 4 Pearl. The Cosmos is clean through the fronts but reads the midlane sooner than most pearls with a strong motion on the backend. This ball is very versatile. I was able to stand to the right and left of the track area without losing any hitting power. I tested this ball on a 42 feet typical house pattern. This is a great ball for levels of bowlers.  Order one from your local pro shop today! My ball review videos are posted on YouTube channel Stanley Waite.
