Ignorant People
« on: March 31, 2006, 10:12:26 PM »
I have seen an increase in Roto Grip equipment lately in my area. However, it still makes me mad when we host a regional event and I'm hearing an AMF staffer complain about Roto Grip's covers being weak. Also, hearing from loyal Roto Grip customer's that while at a tournament a pro shop operator is saying the same thing. This is just my rant and would really like to know if anyone else has heard this or been running into this problem. In my area, Roto Grip is certainly booming at great rate and the ones rolling with them are having great success with them.

I honestly have no idea anyone was saying this. Although living in Utah I'm probably a bit sheltered.  I recently changed my entire arsenal to rotogrip and every ball I purchased out performs the balls I had previously.  My SSSE is the best ball I have ever owned (taking that position from an Original Inferno), my RS1 clears the heads and comes off the spot much better than my Monster Frenzy ever did, my Battle outhooks both my Ultimate Inferno and Triumph TNT and the Saturn fills a hole that I didn't even knew I had.  It's combination of core and cover seems to be one of the most innovative in years.  I am able to do things with this ball I never thought I would be able to do, from going 20 to the ditch to playing a sixth arrow fall back and getting the 8-10 For someone to claim that these covers are weak is not only ignorant, it's a down right lie. And the ultimate irony..an AMF staffer claiming other companies have weak covers?  Sounds like he's projecting to me.

A lame cover up for green eyed envy I'd say, I agree with snowgimp. In my area only one Pro Shop is a Roto Grip Star Dealer 40 miles away, I too have sold off all my other Equipment and Built an all Roto Grip arsenal, and I now have a look on every lane condition that I could not get with the others and filled 2 spots I never knew about. If the loud mouths ever tried Roto Grip they to would be believers SSSSHHHHHH. In my house I get people asking why, what, where all the time or "How come the Pro's don't use Roto Grip on TV?" Or "WOW what ball is that" as they shake thier heads in disbelief as the string gets longer. Besides It was easy to put an arsenal together as there aren't 60 balls to choose from like the "Big 3" and they don't scald your budget like the others. No other company has customer service/relations like Roto Grip either, they listen to the bowler and exceed expectations consistently.

Thanks for all the great comments.  We continue to grow, but it took a lot of hard work over the years to get to where we are today.

LOL, Roto Grip doesn't have a weak ball, or weak cover ball in their lineup.  Even the economy line (ie planets, sonics) are strong. Never heard anyone bad mouth this company for inferior materials and technology.  Praise is the norm.
Goes to show you, one can say anything. The paper holds still.

I seriously think that anyone that is part of freakin AMF shouldn't even be allowed to have an opinion.

It is good to know that there are some other die hard Roto heads out there like me. Right now my area is filled with an over abundance of Ebonite, Hammer, and the occasional AMF. But I say don't knock a company because you don't see them on TV every week. Their covers are unmatched, their cores seem to match up perfectly with the covers, and their equipment is overall easy to drill (well as long as you are careful with the Epics). I say we start a revolution, just run out push Roto Grip till we can't talk anymore. And run around and out score (and for those people that like to hook the ball, out hook) all those other companies out there. I say go Roto Grip, definently "King of them All".

We do okay down here with Roto Grip, but I saw alot of it over in Louisiana.  You have to push Roto, but everyone I have suggested it to loves it.  Silver Streak SE is a great ball.  RS-X is probably the best ball people don't know about.

If anything, roto covers seem to be a bit STRONGER for me than most others. The only "weak" roto I have seen was the green sonic, and it was designed to be a weaker ball.

The one I have had the most luck with has been the "RUSH". I e-mailed roto about what they had that was similar to the reaction and was told the RS-X would be my best bet. Haven't tried it yet, but may in the near future.

I wouldn't say roto was weak by any stretch of the imagination.

I fell in love with Roto when I got my Silver Streak Particle a few years ago.
Not a big hooking ball, but very consistant on the heavy stuff with excellent carry.  Then I bought an RS-X last summer and since then my average has gone up 15 pins. For most of this season I was the only person in my house throwing Roto. Now, one guy in my league is throwing both the RS-P and RS-1, and another guy just ordered a Battle.  Pride and ego prevent most guys from asking what you're throwing.  But, they notice. The ball speaks for itself.
While my RS-X has weakened alot over the course of this season it's still my most consistant performer.
I'm gonna stick with Roto.

There is no rotos around my area, period.  I have since started a revolution.  I AM selling rotos.  I have all the top bowlers around here interested in rotos specially since the epic battlecame out.  I have sold a buch of them since I started using them.  I dont even work in a pro shop but the guy thatdoes is very appreciative that I am doing well with rotos he is selling quite a few.  And he is the only one in the area selling them.  There are no rotos to speak of around here and the way i think about that is that I have a big advantage that theydont!!!!  HEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!!!!!!!

About your topic they are just ball hating they know not whattheyspeakof cause if they did they wouldnt behating.

What an epic battle that was me against the pins every time I bowl, wake up again and go at it again, try to burn em down like a PYRO!!!  Then I listen to ROME in the afternoon and that dude is like EPIC!!  Ha ha ha ha you always say that!

I have three Roto Grip balls in my arsenal (see profile) and I love them all.  For one of the houses I bowl in the Epic/Silver Streak SE combo is what I usually use in league.  I shot a 695 with the Silver Streak last night (Freakin' flat 10 pin the 10th cost me a 7).
