My bad, but I bought a Horizon thinking I was getting a Horizon Solid. Long story short, I can't return it and I'd like to use it for Nationals. If I drill it for early roll and knock the cover back (Green or gray Scotchbrite or 1000 abralon), do you think I'll get a good look with it from the left side?  I'm also bringing a Recharge drilled 2.5 x 3.5 polished for outside and an Atomic Charge drilled 4.5 stacked box finish.

I agree with Mark.  Drilled it strongly and knock the cover off a little.  Scotchbrite or Abralon.  You might be surprised at the look you get.  Worse case scenario you still have a great ball locally.  My best looks were with a Mystic and Horizon Pearl.  But I also crossed with some guys that broke them down quickly.  My HP is probably closer to 4000grit since it's been used since last May and hasn't been touched.

Unfortunately I really didn't see any lefties so I can't comment on how they played  Good luck though!

I definitely agree with your comment on using balls that you're familiar with at nationals or other big tournaments.  I drilled up a Paradigm 4x4 with the RAD in the strong position for nationals last year and had a hard time keeping it on the lane, especially in singles and doubles.  I was too stubborn to change balls to something I was more familiar with.  I shot a shade over 1500 for all events.  Lesson learned to the point that I will experiment with some new equipment over the summer instead of in league like I did this year.  I believe this is one of the key reasons I'm averaging around 200 instead of 210 now that I look back at it.  I will have a set arsenal that I will use in leagues next year unless I see something on the lanes that warrants a change.  I doubt that'll happen, but you never know.
