Roto Grip RSX - Epic
« on: March 14, 2006, 05:21:38 AM »
I have the RSX ball drilled pin just above and right of ring finger and cg below pin in palm. Love the movement on this ball.  Been considering getting
the EPIC with pin below ring finger and cg kicked out.  Anyone know if this
would give me a totally different look than the RSX ?  I am looking for something that would be a little more agressive.  Any thoughts on these
two balls would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your input.

epic is a very drill sensetive ball and i suggest carefoully look the distence of the mb to pap and the strenght of the mb

Hi Mike,

If you drill an Epic with pin below ring finger you are going to get a ball that reads the midlane a lot quicker and is not as strong at the backend.  I have both of these balls with the drilling you were looking at.  So to answer your question, the epic will be more aggresive in that it will start reading the pattern earlier, but it won't snap as hard as your rsx on the back.  Hope this helps.  If you want a ball that is more aggresive I would recommend the Epic Battle.  Everybody that I have drilled one for absolutely loves this ball.  The battle is a good 5 boards stronger than the original epic.

I agree w/ Justin...however...

the movement on the back for the Epic will be determined by the MB placement

Thank you all for your responses.

Justin, to clarify, if I drill up the EPIC with the pin @ 1 o'clock
(just above ring and a little right) stacked I should get the desired
effect I am looking for ( a bit more aggressive than the RSX) ?
Just started using RSX this summer and I am taking a serious liking
to ROTO GRIP.  Thanks in advance.

Mike, both balls drilled the same....the Epic would be more aggressive regardless
