This is similar to a article a year or so ago in the Ebonite Proshop Insider magazine describing weight holes drilling in the thumb positive quadrants typically used for a pattern called "Rev Leverage." Essentially, weight holes drilled in this area change the shape of the weightblock and thus changing the RG values and sometimes the differentials making them react stronger. And if you drill through the stamped mass bias location, you are drilling in the strongest location on the weightblock itself so you would make the ball stronger also. Me personally I have never done this because if you ever plugged and redrilled the ball, you would lose your mass bias locator.
