Layout suggestions for last piece in my arsenal
« on: April 27, 2007, 06:39:23 PM »
I have another Horizon pearl on the way from Axeweldr...I got a tremendous deal on it.  As of right now, I have a 7 ball arsenal which is listed below in order from most oil handling capability to least.

Odyssey- 2000 Abralon, pin below ring, strong MB
Epic- 800 Wetsand, same layout as Odyssey
Horizon Pearl- OOB, pin below bridge
Black Widow- OOB, pin below ring, 50 degree MB
Mercury- 2000 Abralon w/ Ebo Factory Finish Polish, pin above bridge
D/T Barrage- OOB (not sure what that is), pin below ring
Maxim

I can post pics of the balls and the exact layouts if that would be more helpful.  I got my first Horizon to fit below my Widow, but it is actually stronger...starts a tad earlier and makes a much stronger move at the breakpoint.  The most obvious hole here is between the Widow and Mercury.  I'm not even sure the new Horizon will fit there.  I was thinking maybe pin above middle finger (would be about 6-6.25 from PAP for me) with a flare reducing x-hole might work along with a cover adjustment.  The pin is 5-5.5 out with 3-4 top.  If you Roto experts don't think it will fit the bill then I will think about trying something else.  I generally much prefer low pins but I understand that I'm really limiting my arsenal on lighter conditions with early rolling layouts.  I'm open for any and all suggestions here.
