Im VERY happy with my Brunswick BTU pearl pin down on my Sahara scorched lanes. This place even my plastic Tzone spare hooks.
I cannot recommend it enough when NOTHING else can get to the right of the headpin but plastic. Whats really cool is I bowled 9 games with it last night on the dry & I stayed where I was for the most part. I was shocked. My Radical Primo Solid makes me move after 1 game IF I can play it which last night I couldnt even get that down the lane. Same thing for my Radical Ridiculous pearl which is a Medium oil ball, nope, couldnt get right of the head pin. Only my BTU pearl could & I still was over 200s with it. My Motiv rebel tank pearl\urethane is a bit too weak. It doesnt come back, its up the boards only & that really hurts my carry vs the BTU pearl

Should make this a sticky or something but urethane tends to only give a good look when there is oil in the heads and everything is hooking off the lane on the back end (ie short oil but not necessarily dry).  A very weak pearl is usually a better option if you are looking any kind of burn up front.  The BTU pearl was mentioned and yes it might be a good option but imo you may be better off with a Rhino and will be able to save some money as well.  The BTUs are a bit more versatile though.

My friend has the Rhino so I throw his. Its pin up though so not apples to apples. The versatility is very clear so the added $$ is worth it as I can stay with it longer & also save a spot in my bag. I feel if I want to play up the boards the BTU does it better, if I really need to hook the lane, the BTU can come back & hit harder... anything in the middle then they are on fairly equal ground.

These lanes last night were disgustingly dry. I was just thrilled with the BTU pearls ability to handle it & glad I didnt go urethane on advice I got from here.
