Limited to 2 balls
« on: March 04, 2017, 07:44:54 AM »
Aresnal is limited it two balls. Not bowling on much more than a THS, medium down to dry lanes in leagues. No tournaments nothing super difficult or heavy.

2 hander, no thumb. Looking used on eBay. What should I get ? Not looking to spend a ton, just 2 solid balls, that I can. Have fun with bowling. Looking at the HP2 series... Wreck-it, wrecker, wreck-em and hectic. What would you pick (could be limited to that line or not)?

Thanks

That's the one shop that's closest to me. It includes...
Drilling
Finger Tip Performance Ball - $74.95
  Includes:
   - Custom fit hand to new ball
   - Determine positive axis point for proper ball layouts
   - Choose proper layout and surface for new ball
   - Drill ball
   - Grips & slug
Drill a Basic Conventional Grip Ball - $29.95
  Includes:
   - Professionally fit your hand to the new ball
   - Drill Ball

There is another shop IDK the prices but it's 1:10 away.

I'd contact them and see because you're a two finger bowler. Part of that $75 includes thumb slug.

I will.  I have to go anyway..  Would a benchmark ball (medium oil)  and urethane (dry/spare ball) be a good combo for a 2 ball arsenal?

If I would go with other companies  rather than storm/roto grip what would you or who would you suggest going with ?

I'm not overly versed in 2 handers but I'd imagine you're better off with a solid reactive and  pearl as opposed to a urethane

Your not versed in 2 handers and I'm not versed in arsenal building...  Why do you say,  solid and pearl combo?

In my experience. The pearl has always been nice for me on medium to light oil because it allows the ball to skate long enough to get down the lane before snapping back. And a solid because it grips an oily lane and can hook through it

Suggestions for a pearl & solid combo?

I emailed bowlingball.com and here's the response I got.

Hi Mike!

Thank you for your message! Depending on the ball, our custom drilling ranges from $35-$45. The finger and thumb inserts would be extra (Ranged from $4.98 and up)

Please let us know if you have any further questions!

Thank you,
Jess

That's not nearly as pricey as that $75. You may want to reach out further for a more accurate price. All they would need to know I'd imagine is what layout and finger grip size you'd need. But again, you may wanna get further confirmation from one of the pro shop guys here

Oh that's awesome!! I'll have to give them a call to figure out the specs.  Thanks...

After leagues tonight and the rapid break down of the lane and not having a ball to go to. Starting to believe Pearl ball, solid ball and spare ball is the way to go. Suggestions for the 2 balls?

Ok so I don't know how ballsy you are. But look up the jet fighter and jet aviator. I've never seen them in person. But the reviews on them and videos they look nice. They're both under $80. But that's pre drill. Give them a look

Cahones. Jewels.

Mostly. How confident you would be buying a non-big name brand based on limited info and even less from 2 handers

did anything ever come of this?  I was looking on the computer at those two balls on bowlingball.com and there's actually videos of both being thrown by 2 handers.  they both look great
