Most of the time, the only times you read about how someone bowled is when they have an honor score. Well...no honor scores for me thus far....close but no cigar. Tonight it was just an average night by an average bowler in your average Summer fun mixed 4 person league. I had a 612....pretty good for me, not great - my average is 188, but pretty good. Had a 210, 192, 210. Opened in the seventh and eighth frames in each of the first two games. Oh well. It was fun bowling the opposing team as it's supposed to be in a league. We lost the first game by 3 pins, and won the next two by about 25 pins each game. Close all the way around. Only was spotting the other team about 30 pins too. Actually got to use my Epic Battle for the first time since....actually it was the first time I had used it in that house. Had only used it once before, in a different bowling establishment. Decided to give my Tracks a rest. There was actually oil on the lanes! In a summer league! Loved the Epic Battle. Was playing a simple down and in shot, over the ten board and the Battle responded like the champion bowling ball it is. Switched to the Epic in the third game. Had the choice...move inside with the Battle as it was breaking too much by the end of the second, or stay with the same line and go with a slightly less agressive ball. I chose the later because I was comfortable with that line at that point. And it paid off. Nice to have the choice. Tonight was what bowling was all about....good competition, good fun, having an enjoyable time. Pays to remember that sometimes.
