Hot Cell

The Hot Cell was a great ball for a Shorter Pattern on the PBA. I threw the Hot Cell on the Cheetah Pattern and got great results. The ball rolled smoothly down lane with a nice smooth arcing break and great pin reaction. I would definitely recommend this ball for drier lane conditions or shorter lane patterns.

Length: 42ft

Volume: medium

Pattern: THS

Compared to my Pitch Black and Pitch Blue, the Hot Cell is much much more aggressive overall. I found that I had to keep my speed soft with the Pitch Black and Blue in order to get them to read the lane and continue through the pins. With the Hot Cell I don't not have to worry about that. The Pitch Black seemed to read the lane at about the same spot as the Hot Cell but was/is much weaker where as the Pitch Blue was just alittle cleaner and the weakest of all 3 urethanes. My carry percentage with the Hot Cell is significantly higher as well. The half pocket hits carried at a much higher rate with the Hot Cell.

That Cell core does make the Hot a different urethane animal. I like the roll, but at 1000 it's too much surface for the conditions I see most of the time.

I just took the surface up to 4000 and I'm going to test it out on a spotty THS later today. I'm hoping to be able to square up more with the ball than I've been able to so far.
