This is a partial rant.
I acknowledge that a great % is the user, not the tools.

Now that that is established. For the last 6 weeks I have been watching how my HPC functions. I bowl two leagues, two houses. One is sanctioned and a more competitive/harder shot IMO. So, I avg about 2 in my sanctioned league, and it works very well. In my non-sanctioned league, they also flood the lanes, but it hits like a POS. Tonight, was the worst. Not really sure what to do. I went thru every ball. It wasn't until game 3, when I threw my new DareDevil, that I shot 2. That said, has anyone experienced something similar of a ball not working at one house, but at the other? Any ideas?

Btw just for background info , of the 24 frames between game 1/2 I split 12 times.

That's not nearly enough info to give much of a suggestion. However, if the Dare Devil was a better reaction, my guess would be that you needed a ball that responded quicker to friction. On longer oil you don't necessarily need the strongest ball

What info would you need? Can't tell you the pattern they put down, as they wouldn't share that info.

Just sounds like a really bad matchup for me. Even with balls I absolutely hate, I can still strike the majority of the time, just not as much as with other balls. If the hit is bad, then like SV said, probably needed something stronger on the backend. It's either hitting bad because you're playing too much angle or it's reacting too soon or too late. Whatever the case, I wouldn't try to force it to work when it's obviously not. I've got a lot of great balls that spend most of their time in the bag because they don't match up with what I bowl on the most. Not bad balls, just not the right condition.

What surfaces are you using on the balls?
Have you tried changing surfaces?
What lines do you play?
Have you tried playing differents lines?
What knd of ball speed and revs do you have?
Etc.

I changed my angle of entry and tried all over the place.
Surface is 1000 - it has been changed a couple times.
My line was 17 to 7 initially, and it was not coming back. So I went down 10 and it went into the head pin. Went far right down 5 and it skated to slide behind the head pin.
Went out left and it left washout. By left I mean standing 20 out to about 9:10
I'm a tweeter. I will say, my ball is very sensitive to speed. Anything above 16, and it's a trash shot. The time I struck - was about 15 mph. ( our monitors have speed gauge)

The reason why I was trying to use it is because I have nothing as strong. Everyone was throwing their strongest dull ball to get any time of reaction.

Why not find the friction (down 10, it seems) and use the Dare Devil? Just because everyone is using their oilers doesn't mean you have to...

Also, moving in with 1000, when it read the friction when you were in, the surface may have not let it bounce as hard as you need.

1000 grit = zero angle
Moves are waaaaay too big.

I'd try 2000 as it's going to be a good blend between getting traction AND a bit of shape downlane. When you move, just move a board or two at a time until you find the spot.

Also yes. If you get a controllable pearl like the DD is, it will work just as well given the right circumstances. Sport patterns don't necessarily require surface, sometimes smooth pearls work best.

Going by this lane play and the fact this is happening on a league with a "competitive/harder shot".

IMO it sounds like you playing on a longer, flatter condition and your rolling/playing the ball too far outside (between 5-10).

With a longer condition, the backend is shorter and the ball doesn't have enough time to move.

On a longer pattern you typically need to play straighter with flatter launch angles and more in the middle closer to the pocket. Because you have limited area down lane for the ball to react and move.

If it is worth anything, my Dad had the hypercell and it was very hit and miss. Mostly a miss in my opinion. Seems that if there wasn't enough oil the ball would roll out immediately and not hook, but then also didn't seem to do great in heavy oil either. It would do what you described as well. No recovery, and then move right and it would go through the nose. I think it is just an early hooking ball that controls the lane and does most of it work in the earlier part of the lane.

I don't know why they are so much different, but from what I have seen the eternal cell seems to be a lot more versatile.
