Here’s my comments on the bowling balls:
I primarily used one ball the entire tournament. The recently released Mystic gave me effortless skid and a nice midlane reaction which helped me control some of the over/under I saw some of the guys going through on the Viper pattern. Had it not been for the particle pearl cover on this ball my look with the other options in my bag would have at best maybe gotten me one of the last checks. This cover and core combination is something I’ve been waiting for in the RG line to give me that look I’ve just been missing in my bag. Thanks Hank!!

Funny thing about the look I had with the Odyssey was I used a trick my doubles partner does when he needs to "sling" it up the lane, and I used it against him. The layout in the Odyssey was right for how tight they were getting for me, but it started just too quick on the lane. If I opened up the fronts it missed the spot, but I couldn't go more square and just needed to find a way to get it done. I took out my ring finger and just threw the ball with my middle finger and thumb in the ball (SFS) for my match against Richgels and on the right lane against Mika. I've been toying with this in league and haven't had much success and I guess I thought it could be an option in the toolbox, but didn't imagine I could haul it out at a tournament like this with so much on the line.
I also want to give my thanks to Etonic and Louie Wemett for the shoe incentive. Thanks buddy.
One final note is that I would encourage anyone with good equipment laying around to give to Jeff's charity fundraising. He does so much good for such a great cause that I felt compelled to make a contribution and from an email I got back from him the results were almost immediate. Thanks Jeff for doing the things we all should be doing and when the new stuff is released I'll have more nuggets for you in the late summer.
