bad@ss ball
« on: February 08, 2006, 12:22:54 AM »
got a used rsx on ebay, cleaned her up to 1000 grit polish.  took her to league and let her rip.  all I say is wow!.  I had to move my feet left about 8 boards and give this marbled gem some room.  It came flying back like a tank.  cant say I had mixers or lite hits, never needed them, this sucker was just creaming the pocket all nite long.  740 first time out.  I can see me getting another of these and drilling it tamer.  just love the roll and predicitability of this ball.  strong but controlled strong.  I likey.

ps: oh by the way, it is drilled pin next to ring and cg near palm with a positive shift of 1/2 inch.

This ball seems so much more usable when the polish level is taken down to 1000 grit than with its stock 1500 grit. (Both are polished, as with Dstanek's ball.) Unless your rev rate is close to cranker level or the oil is less than medium, the 1500 grit polish (actually almost appears to be a higher gloss than that) seems to defeat the prupose of this ball. Maybe mine need to be "broken-in", but after 5 or 6 games on what I belive was true medium oil, I was frustrated and had to take the ball down to 1000 grit polished.
