Title: Mutant Cell
Post by: shrapnel on September 03, 2009, 04:30:43 AM
I assume it is a solid but can someone confirm this.  Any pics out there yet?

None that I've run across... and that's hitting multiple overseas websites as well.

If it is a solid that will be interesting to watch play out, since WM pretty much only throws pearls.

************************************

Okay guys, I concede - only about half his wins came with a Pearl, the other half with a Solid - no Hybrids that I can see. This of course throws out the Amp Energy King of Bowling Series where he won every game with a Cell Pearl.

I have seem him talking about the current ball line up where he was saying that besides the Cell Pearl, he liked what he had seen so far of the Nomad Pearl and the Reign (pearl).

Since when?

I dont see how it would be odd to watch play out. Yes Wes throws more pearl cause hes a very in to out bowler. Plays alot of lane and seems to like the kick of the pearls or something similar. They wont make him throw it. I have not seen him really throw a Rogue. And especially with the new rule saying all storm staffers can throw roto equipment and vice versa hes been throwing the Reign alot from what ive seen on xtra frame.

If memory serves correctly , he won the CLR Scorpion using a grand illusion, shot a 290 on the shark at balmer using a Orig. Cell and won the Etonic marathon open using a Orig. Cell also.

Yeah he only throws pearls

Also he threw a Resurgence when he was with Columbia. Wes can throw anything obviously. It does seem like he uses alof Pearl. Hes just got that great touch to get those pearls to read so well. But Wes will throw anything and still do quite well lol.

Wes is throwing the Mutant right now in the world championships on xtra frame...also think i saw Liz Johnson throwing one in practice, could be wrong on that one tho.

On Edit: Mika has been Mutated as well!

I noticed on page 7 of the Sept. BJI, an ad for the Storm open house program to the right of the VE in the center there's a ball with the roto star logo and it looks to be cherry red/navy blue/yellow color scheme so that's the mutant cell. Those sneaky fellas over at Storm...

Wes will succeed with whatever he needs to throw.  Keep in mind he has been on staff with Track, Columbia twice, and now Roto.  He has won throwing a lot of different stuff but I would be willing to bet the Cell Pearl is a favorite of his considering it has brought him more than 100k.

Wow. I've been really impressed by roto grip lately, especially the nomad series and the cell series. Everything about them seems to be spot on. Core/cover technology, color, reaction...but the mutant cell seems to have broken that string. lol. in the color department anyway. I know it's not important, I just expected something A LOT different. It probably rolls awesome and hits like a ton of bricks like all rotos though, so that's what is important.

It is a measure how strong the core's mass bias is. Ball is placed on y De-Terminator device, PSA at 60° from vertical axis, and the time is measured how long it takes the core to migrate from this instable position towards its stable end roll axis. The quicker the stronger, RG asym. differential is another corresponding number that indicates the mass bias strength.
