MVP vs Punch Out
« on: December 06, 2019, 08:36:03 AM »
Given all things the same .... ball surface and layout, is there enough difference between the two to warrant have them both in the bag?

The Punch Out has been a great ball for me when I need to move in and bend it.  The MVP is getting a lot of hype right now and I'm itching for a new ball ......

Imo, yes there's enough of a difference. MVP should be enough ball to fit above a Punch Out.
League: Pitch Purple, Destiny Magenta
Testing: MVP
Interests: Black Widow, Proof Solid, Idol Pearl

I pulled the trigger on the MVP.  I took both to my wall-shot league ..... honestly, the only difference I could see was the color.  They both have the same shape and response to friction.  If there were differences, my eyes couldn't pick it up.

MVP 2.55 / .040
Punch Out 2.53 / .040

The covers, with the 1500 polish finish, have to be almost the same.  Adding surface might bring out more differences, but when you can throw one, you can throw the other....at least you can on the wall I was on.

That’s what’s great about surface adjustments.... I would do that.  I have two hustles (Ink and Au, with the same drilling, but different finishes on them, and they compliment each other very well; Just different as how they finish on the lane).

I would have said they're not very different . . same look on the lane for me.  MVP maybe a pinch sharper, but that same chuggy heavy rolling look.  It's good to know there's a Punch Out type ball out there now though . . the pearl is actually a bit closer to the Punch Out for me, but generally they're pretty similar.
