Shooting 300 with zero consistency?
« on: April 14, 2008, 02:02:43 AM »
What is up with all the bowlers who brag about shooting 300 and say the ball is great, because they missed their mark by 5 boards and the ball held/recovered? Is this something to brag about? I've always been a proponent of throwing a good ball, but has the game changed to the point where it's all about the equipment, and no longer the bowler? Your thoughts...?

Its not the ball, honestly its finding that hold line that gives you the hold when you miss in and recovery when you miss out, or the typical house shot!
I showed up to a league last year, knowing my team would not be there and I would have next to no chance to compete with the sub I had, completely wasted, proceeded to throw a 290 with a 9 pin in the first frame of the 3rd game ( after MORE drinking) I laughed about it the whole night, it could easily have been a 300 and I swear to anything that I never threw the ball in the same spot... Low and behold I tried it again the next week, another high 700 series, I mean honestly its a joke.  Its great when you find a ball that gives you that look, but its more to do with the lanes and finding your little zone out there.
