i feel vindicated
« on: March 02, 2008, 08:14:26 AM »
i bowled today with a guy using the cell with pretty much the same drill as mine. Better bowling attributes ,more speed revs ,better all around even on paper.I dont know what you guys consider good bowlers but for every day house hacks i consider over 210 to be good. Any way he used it 2 games before finally putting it away and for those 2 games i saw the exact same reaction and lack of carry that i had been seeing from mine. I am just griping because the forum is here and i have no life and noone else to talk to so forgive me for taking advantage. I guess it was a tough shot reverse block dryer than normal in the mids and wetter than normal outside. the best balls were either sanded to dirt in the oil or polished and played in the middle i had neither.  To be fair, the guy did say he had been killing with it everywhere else he bowled, and he did say he really liked it so at least i dont feel like the ugly duckling anymore,at least not where the cell is concerned.

I hated my cell at first then I polished it to 2000 and now I love it.

The Cell needs some oil, especially up front.  If you couldn't look at the dull cover and come to that same conclusion........I dunno.

Now you can polish it, but its not really meant to be polished.  I guess you can try to force it to perform on conditions its not meant to be on, but with all the equipment available today why would you?

There were three out of 10 cells on the ball rack today at our Nor Cal travel league.  Doesn't mean they stayed there all day, but they started off strong.

Just keep in mind that the CELL may not be a good match for the conditions you bowl on.  Not every ball is going to be a winner for everyone.

Have mind at 1500 grit and love it for good amounts of oil with carry down. I changed the coverstock from 2000 to1500 to get a earlier roll which I get with a mack truck explosion toward the pins. Give it a try at 1500 you won't be dissappointed.
