Roto-Grip - "True Professionals"
« on: January 21, 2008, 07:12:35 PM »
I want to thank Roger Noordhoek and the rest of the Roto-Grip staff for the time that they took to look into a piece if their equipment that they felt may have been defective.I purchased a Quest about a month ago and only had it two weeks and could not get the ball to hook.Immediately I came onto this website and asked some of you about what options I could take to try and make the ball hook. The response back was great but I got one response from Roger almost immediately and he was concerned about the defective coverstock that had plaqued the Quest line.To make a long story short,Roto-Grip replaced the ball without batting an eyelash and Roger went out of his way to layout a pattern that he feels should be the best fitting for me.Well,I used the ball last Friday for the first time and shot a pretty nice 704 with it.I was quite pleased witht the reaction and even more pleased with the way that Roto-Grip handled it.Thanks again Roger and Roto-Grip.You guys are awesome and I look forward to trying out that new Cell in the future.

Defective coverstock? I wonder if there is defective core, because mt quest flares about 2 inches? I had the same problem with a storm Vertigo.

Thanks

yes.i believe Roger did say it was a defective coverstock but it could have been a defective core.either way they were great about exchanging balls without any problems and the new one is definately not defective.

My quest seems to do that for me.  It does not flare barely at all, doesn't hook at all.  The ball just sits in the room as it is pretty much a spare ball for me.

I have tried numerous cover changes and the ball just doesn't do what i bought it for.

Now I tried Roto Grip again with the Cell and actually bought two of them and they roll fantastic.  Have actually sold two more for the pro shop that I buy all my stuff.

How can we tell if we have a defective coverstock or core?  Mine has minimal flare with a 4 1/2 inch pin and strong MB.  Was there a certain range in the serial numbers or something?

Mannn you haven't even seen me throw my quest...does it hook?  Yes, I'm just saying the ball hardly flares, well from my eyes.

Mike I've been waiting on Chappy for months to help me out with my game...still no love.

Yes I did...at Fort Meade on the Scorpion pattern. Your ball was one of the few that actually started up in the first 30ft.  You just didn't trust it.  It was flaring quite a bit.   You wouldn't have that much hook without flare.
