Need help getting back into the Roto swing
« on: January 30, 2014, 11:31:47 PM »
Well, its good to see some familiar faces are still around on the Roto board. Been gone awhile focusing on school but it is about time I get back into it. But I need some help as my line up was pretty aged when I left the game and I need to rebuild. I'm looking for a modern replacement for a Pluto, a Mars, and a Cell Pearl. What does Roto have these days guys? I have been completely out of the loop for two years. Not a single shot thrown. Thanks!

Depending on what you are looking for exactly, you probably couldn't go wrong with a Hyper Cell, Asylum, and an Uproar.  Also keep in mind,  If Roto follows pattern and does what I think they will, there should be a pearlized Hyper Cell dropping late july/august.

Watch some videos on youtube, check out the RG website.  You can't really miss with roto right now (besides the Totally Defiant, it was good OOB, but became quite condition specific).
Wise bowler told me once: K.I.S.S.   Keep it simple stupid.

Hyper Cell
Freak
Freak Out
Profit
Totally Defiant
Pursuit
C-System Versa Max
Defiant

Pluto Mars and Cell Pearl!!

In our wet dry house you'd still be happy and I see those every day being used well in league!

Still great balls on the lanes!

REgards,

PS just threw an old Grand Illusion in my house and loved it, along with a Silver Streak Solid.  Still great balls!

Locke--Good to see you back.  I would take a look at the HP2 line.  I think the Rumble is one of the best house type light-medium to medium balls on the market.  Has a control type solid cover that is easily adjusted.  Don't be turned off by it's OOB 2000....you can adjust surface and go to a lower total hook.  I laid mine out rather strong and on a 39' house pattern I am not swinging it that far.  Stats. in profile.  Rumble is the best ball purchase I have made for house type conditions in 4-5 years I am that high on it.  Control enough to use it on tougher blended or flatter conditions also.

Lefty, the Pluto was picked up right when it was released and was my benchmark for 2-3 years, so it has 120+ games on it. The Cell Pearl was also right at release and might be upwards of 150 games. So they are just ready to be replaced. I don't want them to go, but it was time when I left the game.
