Any else finding the Neptune a little snappy for drier lanes? Any recomendations? Drilling is 4x4 with small weight hole on PAP....

Urethane.  

Where does your current layout put the pin?  Maybe scuff the surface to have it bleed off more energy before reaching the backend?

I would say it's probably the typical problem with "dry lane" balls in today's bowling world.  Reactive covers just have a tendency to snap, especially with the higher RG to get it down the lane and the shiny cover, it's just conserving too much energy for the break.  This is why I said urethane at first, they give a MUCH more even overall reaction.  You're also caught between the thinking of putting the pin up to promote the length you need, but this also makes the ball conserve even more energy.  Like I said, I might try to scuff up the cover to make it read the lane a little earlier and bleed off some of that energy.  But what do I know?  Not much!!

You are also hampered by having a stacked drilling.

Anytime you want the ball to ease into the pocket area and not flip, you kick the cg out or in by an inch or so, to enable that happening.

Looking for a good dry lane ball,  I have a black urethane roto grip grenade, excellent condition, fingers plugged and redilled into in the same spot, other than that ball is mint..  15.00 plus shipping....

Yes, I  agree with som of the others. The Neptune has a strong cover,

Try something like a 2.5"x5" drill with as low a pin position as your track can tolerate.

Mine is not flippy at all.  I went something like 4.5 x 5.5 and I'm quite pleased with the reaction.

or a worn 2000 abralon pad...
very lightly... then let the lane
shine it back up... in box mine read
every finger of carrydown.. after
doing the above, it is awesome!!!

I too had the same problem.
I e-mailed Roto and stated that the Neptune is not a dry lane ball as     advertised.They gave me info. on how to tame it down. It was taking the shine down in seperate steps. This did help.
Go to their web site and ask for help.

I GOT MY NEPTUNE LAST WEEK OF FEBURARY, PRO SHOP OPTED FOR THIS INSTEAD OF A STORM JOLT TO GO ALONG WITH MY ARTILLERY. YES CARRY DOWN IS REAL NOTICEABLE BUT PREDICABLE ENOUGH THAT I SHOT 750 ON FRESH OIL IN THE AM. MINE IS DRILLED WITH THE PIN UNDER MY RING FINGER. MY CHANGES TO ADJUST TO CARRY DOWN WERE ON THE APPROACH UP OR BACK 1/2 WAY THROUGH THE 2ND GAME AND ABOUT 3RD FRAME OF LAST GAME. GRANTED I STARTED THE FIRST GAME WITH 1-2-4-6-10 MAKING THE SPARE, 243-258-248 ONLY LEAVING 3 10'S. BALL COMES ON AT END OF OIL PATTERN AND HITTING VERY HARD WHEN LIGHT INTO THE POCKET NEXT CLOSES SCORE ON MY PAIR WAS 597.
