what RotoGrip...
« on: May 28, 2007, 03:28:51 PM »
Greetings Gang

I was wondering what RotoGrip ball would basically be similar to the famous Black Widow, I was thinking that the Horizon Solid would or am I wrong in that assumption ?

looking at the core numbers alone, the BW (2.50 - .060) has a tad more length and more hook potential than the HS (2.48 - .048), the SD-73 (2.50 - .073) has more hook potential than the BW (2.50 - .060) all three with the same surface and drill layout. The SD will handle more oil than both the BW, HS so depends on what you are looking for. HS smooth rolly arcy , great benchmark ball.

What sorta shape are you getting with the Widow?

thanks guys, anyway, I've never thrown a BW before but I do have and throw the No-Mercy. I'm wondering because the BW is so popular and pretty much everyone says that its not as strong as the No-Mercy and I just got an Odyssey .

So Since the Odyssey will now be my primary ball (must retire the No-Mercy) I thought something like the BW would compliment my Odyssey

I guess I was hoping that one of the med-range RG balls would be kinda similar (i.e. mystic or horizon-solid)  btw, I like to belly the ball so I do prefer swinging it out and watching the ball come roaring back

Thanks

From what I've seen, the SD-73 is the closest. There both quick revving fairly angular solid reactives that handle the same amount of oil.
