No Rules at 2000 polish
« on: August 21, 2017, 09:31:17 PM »
Wow!   As a last resort I polished my No Rules at 2000. Stunned by how different the ball rolled. No more weak 10's. Ball gave me so much more length and crushed the pocket. I guess dull balls just don't work for me. I could miss way right and actually had a bit of hold on shots slightly tugged. That is exactly the reaction I have been looking for at this particular house.  Too bad it was the last week of the summer season. Still, I am anxious to see this ball at other houses , now that it is polished.  Anybody having carry issues I highly recommend putting some polish on this ball.

Missing outside on a house shot with a strong dull cover will equal more weak 10s. Adding polish helps the ball conserve energy better instead of burn up on the dry.

Going to keep my Dare Devil Trick at 1000 dull.  I will use that for the heavy stuff. Adding polish to the No Rules should make it much more user friendly. I hate to buy a ball and barely use it. Pretty well covered for the heavy with the Trick, No Rules and Dark Legend. For the medium I have the Code Red  Iq Tour and the reliable Hyroad. Just picked up a blue hammer to go with my Desert Ops for the dry.  Once I see what the houses are putting out I can trim my ball selection down to 4 plus the blue hammer. No sense taking 7 balls to league.   Done buying balls for a while. Wife starting to ask questions  LOL  Luckily she is a bowler too.

I keep my No Rules solid at 2000k/polish and it works great on house shots just like you said.  It works very similar to my Hy Road. For me it's almost the same lay down point and mark as the Hy Road, just a different shape to the pocket.

If I happen to go somewhere with a long and heavy oil pattern it only takes a few minutes to knock the polish off with a 500 or 1000 pad and then my No Rules can be used for what it was intended for.

I about ready to dump my Alpha Crux until I put polish over 4000 on it.  Too much surface is the biggest mistake made by many bowlers.  If you have heavy long oil you aren't going to open up your swing area by using more surface, but you will destroy your hold forcing you to play out angle that isn't available

I agree 100%.  Looking back over my career I really never have bowled well with dull equipment. It just doesn't give me any miss room. Even on the longer flatter patterns 1000k with polish works so much better then 1000 dull. The exception might be my IQ Tour but mine is at 4000 abralon. Not really too dull. Everybody needs a bit of miss room and dull just doesn't give me much. Finally finished up arsenal for upcoming season.  Only really dull ball is my Dare Devil Trick at 1000. Trick at 1000 dull    No Rules 2000 polish    Dark Legend  1000 sheen   Code Red 1500 polish   IQ Tour 4000 dull Hyroad 1500 polish   Desert Ops 1500 polish and a new Blue Hammer remake. Bowling 3 leagues at 3 different houses and 1 travel league. Should be able to limit arsenal to just 4 balls plus my blue hammer, once I see what shot is being put out. No chance I will be lugging 8 balls to league. Save that for the tournaments.
