I, too, am surprised at the price point for the Hot Cell. Is it reasonable pricing, or an overreach? I guess we will know more as the first reviews and videos come out from the people we consider to be trusted sources.
For those of you old enough to remember, when the Quantum balls were first released, it was a restricted distribution through authorized pro shops and a $200 price per ball. It was an eye popping number at the time, and yet they sold quite well. Not everybody bought one. I'm sure many people at that time felt the way that many bowlers feel now about pricing, and they voted with their wallets.
Nothing has really changed. Voting with your wallet is still the easiest way to deliver a message to any industry, and you don't have to lodge a complaint to do it.
I totally get what the problem is as a consumer. It is a pretty good chunk of change to risk on buying a new ball, and nobody is directly guaranteeing you any satisfaction with it's reaction or ability to score. I would hope your pro shop operator is doing his/her best to fit your needs to a ball that will work best for you, but it is still a risk you take.
