Ball I think people will wish they'd bought: Mystic...
« on: June 04, 2009, 05:16:31 PM »
Picked one up a few months ago and drilled it, but never used it that much until the last two weeks of league. Scores in the two weeks I've used it: 165, 235, 221, 251, 214, 184 (211.7 avg.), which for this lowly 195-average guy is pretty nice. The fact that the last three scores came on a heavy carried-down post-birthday party shot tonight in scratch league makes it even nicer.

I've been hit-or-miss with Roto in recent years (loved the Retro Resurrection, so-so on the Saga and Silver Streak SE), but this thing's a winner. Right now it's the first ball out of the bag, though I had to bag it a couple of times in those two sets and finish with a Chainsaw.

Just when I find a core/cover combo I like, they discontinue the ball. Figures. (g)

I agree. I picked up a used one two years ago and then let a buddy talk me out of it while I was still on a partial Brunswick kick.

Kick is the appropriate word as I have been kicking myself ever since.

I agree Jess.  It is definitely still my favorite...

It is pretty much the only ball I use and I even have an undrilled one in the closet for a rainy day.

That's not to say there aren't times where it doesn't work but you know what I mean.

Mike,

They're selling for next to nothing on eBay NIB, or at least were a couple of weeks back. I paid all of $40 for mine. Maybe you can find a replacement.

Dang it Jess! You discovered my secret.

I used this ball for the very first time at Nationals a year or two back, when they were held at Reno.

Me and my doubles partner cashed, both in brackets and with the USBC!
We came in 323rd place in doubles, and got a very nice check due to this ball!

When everyone else's pill couldn't make the corner, we were blowing up the racks like nobody's business!

This ball tears carrydown up! I love it! I now own three of them!
