Nomads......No filler?
« on: July 06, 2009, 07:10:07 AM »
I noticed the nomads have a slightly high RG and as well the pictures do not depict any filler whereas the Cells and Illusions depict filler in the ball pictures. Does anybody know whether this is the case or not?or just a online picture lol.

I know the Fire line of balls (Fired Up, Spitfire, etc.) had no filler thanks to their large cores as well.

I think you're mistaken, but it's possible that this was the case in the lighter weight Thunderstrucks.

I have 2 in my closet, they definitely have filler.

So the coverstock is only ~1/2" thick everywhere there is a hole?

My Thunderstruck solid has a different depth of coverstock at each hole, I'd have to go get it from the pro shop and look to see if its filler or core below but it looked odd when drilling it.

That's all I needed to know.

As far as I'm concerned it's a ball without filler then and like most of the Storm balls without filler the core numbers in 14# drop off significantly.

I'll check when i get home to see if the depth is the same at the fingers and the weight hole to make sure it's not the core. Honestly I didn't really think, I saw material in the weight hole and the fingers and just assumed.

In comparison to the Fired Up, the cover on the Thunderstruck is thinner in places since the core is much larger in them.  I've seen balance holes in a Twin V cored ball that don't hit the core until they are more than 2" deep.

That's not going to happen on the Thunderstruck, that core is just too round.

Sorry for the hijack, but I think the OP's question was already answered... LOL
