Getting mine drilled tonight!!! Looking forward to this one as I like the original NoRules but right now it is just taking up space due to lack of OIL!!! I think this will compliment my Daredevil well. 8)
-
Got it drilled last night, went with 60 x 3 3/8 x 60 and boy is she strong!!!! Love the smooth strength of this ball. The combo of the Amped cover and the Caotic core is awesome!!! May have to get a second one! I only got to throw a few games last night cant wait for league on Thursday now 8) Great Job Roto!!!!!

Did you drill is stronger or weaker than normal compared to like your favorite drillings.

Punching mine Tuesday

Billdozer,
I would say stronger. I am just learning about the dual angle layouts. Most of my asymmetrical equipment have been a 50 x3 1/2 to 4 x75 pin down. This one ended up with pin in the ring finger. My Daredevil is 50 x 3 3/8 x60 pin in ring as well and last night I was 5 boards or more farther left with the NRP vs the Daredevil. Schlem compares it to an amped up HC Skid(which I know everyone loved) , but I think NRP is better. That amped cover is really good :)

See I was wanting to do pin in the ring finger too lol.
I'll probably do pin up I just don't know it I wanna kick everything to the right or not....And x hole or not...
-
Billdozer,
I don't think you can go wrong. I am seriously considering getting a 2nd NRP and going pin up, probably a 50 x4 1/2 x35 or 40 ... I am impressed with this one. Have not seen this kind of motion from a pearl in a while.. :)

How would you guys compare it to the Inception Pearl?
-
AlonzoHarris,
I have not thrown any 900 G Equipment but comparing the 2 on BTM:
Diff is higher and RG is lower on Inception but the NoRules pearl can handle more oil, more med-Heavy where Inception is light Med. Hope this helps
-
I won a No Rules Pearl in a ball raffle this week. I am looking forward to getting it drilled next week.
-
The guy in Illinois last night that shot 900, he was apparently throwing the No Rules Pearl all night.

Inception Pearl is light-medium? This would be incorrect. Med-heavy, maybe.

Well that shames my 833 on Thursday with the same ball.

Doom,
I was just going by the way BTM reviewed the ball, sorry about that. :)

Oh, I'm not upset. Just saying that 74 pearl isn't going to be able to be used on light. If it's anything like the dreams, I need volume to get it down lane.

How much better is the NRP vs the Snap Lock. I have the S/L and was thinking about selling it to get this ball instead. Is that worth doing?

Snap Lock is earlier and less down lane. However, the SL handles more oil.

Metal_rules,
I have both but drilled differently. My NRP is 60 x 3 3/8 x 60 and my SL is 50 x 4x 75. I haven't thrown my SL since I got the NRP. If drilled properly they can compliment each other well. I think the NRP is a great ball.

Did you make any cover adjustments or leave it OOB?
-
I did hit my NRP with a light 4000 pad..

I had one drilled one up last week. 4x4x1 layout. I buy a decent amount of equipment and I've had some balls I've really liked, but this ball matches my game perfectly. Used it thursday and had 490 after 2 before having to put it away. Used it in a big local tournament on saturday and led my bracket through 3, shooting 778 scratch. Unfortunately my shot, and body, didn't hold up and I was not able to hold the lead. Bowled league that night (after 8 games in the tournament) and shot 737. My league averages fall between 205 and 211 currently.
I really liked the Storm balls I threw last year, but decided to try some other stuff when I dropped to 14lbs. While some of those balls have been very good, I can't believe how well this ball works for me. Convinced me to try some more Roto Grip balls. The Daredevil is in the shop waiting to be drilled up. Hopefully getting it tonight.
In terms of ball motion, this ball allows me to play my A game (outside 10 - straight up to swinging the ditch) with some decent speed. Gets some decent length and comes off the spot with good continuation. Not as skid/flip as the Code Black that I have, and drives the pins better. I like that Code Black as well, but the NRP is something else. I'd say this ball is a combination of the Fix (motion hole layout) and the Code Black - my 2 previous purchases before this, but with more continuation. Handles the oil better than either of those balls as well, and does not soak it up as much as the Fix.
