Nuclear Cell is SICKK
« on: March 01, 2020, 08:07:04 PM »
Out of the box, the Nuclear Cell looks awesome. This ball has  great shelf appeal. I have never drilled a cell that I didn’t like. I had the Cell Pearl, Hyper Cell, and Hyper Cell Fused; I liked them all. So naturally, I was excited about another cell. The Nuclear Cell is wrapped in the eTrax-P20 coverstock. Out of the box, you’ll notice how easy this ball floats through the front part of the lane. I think you get what’s advertised— this ball will be clean through the fronts and snap hard. I’m not talking about a boomerang like a IQ Emerald or a Hyroad pearl, but a boomerang by Asymmetrical standards. Throughout the video, I only moved 4-5 boards and kept my eyes in about the same area. The Nuclear allowed me to make my angles steeper through the front and it retained a ton of energy on the back end. Steeper angles combined with the balls natural abilities gave me about an arrows worth of room on the lane. Isn’t that was every bowler is looking for? As I’ve stated before, I bowl in high friction centers so most of the time Asymmetrical bowling balls are no good for me. But even on this dry house shot, the Nuclear Cell cleared the front with ease and had excellent pin carry. Some of the shots you’ll see did not strike because they had poor execution. Other than that I am very impressed and I am excited for other players to get their hands on this ball. I try to be as honest as possible when recommending bowling balls to people. Not every bowling ball will be good for every player. I think the Nuclear Cell will be a home run! I anticipate this ball will be the go-to on House Patterns and other easier lane conditions for a variety of players because of how easy it clears the fronts. It will also roll well on some medium to high volume patterns on high friction surfaces.

Usually, Storm and Roto Grip don’t release the same type of ball around the same time. The Omega Crux releases this Friday. The Omega and the Nuclear Cell both have pearl coverstocks. However, the two couldn’t be more different. The Omega is early and smooth while the Nuclear Produces great length and has a sharp motion downlane. I compared the Nuclear to an Astro Physix and a Hyper Cell Fused. For me, the Astro was 1-2 weaker and had more forward roll off the end of the pattern. The Nuclear retained a lot more shape downlane which allowed it to strike where the Astro left a 10 pin. As compared to the Hyper Cell Fused, I felt the Fused was earlier and more forward off of the pattern. It burned up which causes the lazy 10 as well.

Make sure you stop by your local Storm VIP Pro Shop to pre-order a Nuclear Cell! The release date for this ball is March 6th!
