Odyssey MB placement
« on: June 19, 2007, 07:37:08 AM »
I'm picking up a Odyssey from Allstarbowling this week and having them drill it.  On most of my other stuff I get Pin up drillings, but I've never had much luck in finding a good MB spot for me.

On my previous MB ball a Track Machine I had the MB closer to my VAL and probably 3" away from PAP.  The ball would never seem to turn over like it should.  Before that I had a Fear Factor, MB close to thumb (unsure of distance to PAP since it was a long time ago).  That ball was a dud for me.  Everything else I've owned has been symmetrical.

I generally track within an 1" of my thumb, a little further from the fingers.  PAP is 5 1/2" over 1/2" up, 280-300 revs, speed is pretty firm.  Speed dominant you could say and I like to play the middle of the lane when conditions allow.  What's a good MB to PAP distance on this ball?

Clint,

Placing MB closer to your VAL will make the the breakpoint smoother...it will not flip.

For the Odyssey have the MB placed 4.5 inches from you PAP towards the thumb. You will not be disappointed.
