Hustle BRY AND XRAY Reviews

The biggest bang for your buck in performance is back with the new Hustles. The XRAY provides a smooth controllable shape with the BRY being cleaner and more angular.
I tested both these balls after the Road and was impressed with the performance of both of them. Typically, I do not throw or bring extremely weak equipment as my rev rate is on the lower side although I intend on bringing the XRAY to league this week where the surfaces hook extremely early. Both Hustles read the body of the lane well and provided plenty of continuation through the pins as seen in the video.

The newest addition to Roto Grip's HP1 line is the Hustle XRAY! It features the proven Hustle core wrapped in the popular VTC Solid coverstock. I drilled up a fresh IQ Tour edition to compare it to, and I was not at all surprised to see the difference between the two balls. I drilled both balls 5x4x4.25 2LS and kept the OOB finish on both. To cut to the chase, the Hustle XRAY is much cleaner through the front part of the lane but provides much more board coverage compared to the IQ Tour. The IQ tour is earlier and smoother throughout and covers fewer boards from right to left. This is mostly due to core shape and design. If I had a new Hustle PBR, I put this right at about the same mark as the PBR. Nonetheless, if you are looking for a great bang-for-your-buck ball, the Hustle XRAY is going to be a solid option to go with!

The Hustle series has truly re-defined the term "entry level", and that is no exception with the Hustle XRAY. For me, the Hustle XRAY closely resembles the USA, meaning that is pretty early and rolly for being an entry level at this price point. I find I am able to throw it on the fresh on older, drier lane surfaces, as well as during transition after the bigger asym and sym stuff like the XCell and Optimum Idol. I think this is a great piece for anyone looking for control, and not a whole lot of overall flare.

 The new Hustle in the Roto Grip entry level is the Hustle BRY.  I am a big fan of the Hustle Line over the years.  Pretty good bang for your buck!  Good looking colors and shelf appeal.  I always like to drill the entry level balls with stronger pins to help with the over under from the lowed diff balls.
So I went with a 4 x 4x 2 layout.  The Hustle Bry has very good downlane reaction even with the lower differential.  I like using the Hustle BRY when I'm bowling on the short sport patterns or the drier shot House patterns.  I like the pearl cover as It gets through the burnt heads and doesn't really create a flippy motion, more of an arcing motion.  Which allows me to play more in the friction, do the weaker RG Hustle's.
Ive pesonally liked the entry level, ball its seems most centers don't apply much oil these days.
the Hustle Bry is about the same strength as the Tropical surges with a little different motion.
Just a very good choice for when the lanes get toast!!
