Results of 1st league nite with a 2 ball roto arsenal.
« on: September 01, 2004, 06:49:25 AM »
Taking some of Jeffrevs advice (he originally listed [I believe] 4 balls + a spare ball from my large collection, for the first league night.  Since I only wanted to use my 3 ball roller I cut that list down to the Silver Streak solid, one of my Rush's (the 13.5 pounder) and my spare ball.  Seemed to work well.  On a 38' pattern, geared to force you to play outsice, I shot 241 (SS), 180 (SS), and 253 (Rush).  Had I not forced 7 or 8 shots past my breakpoint it would have been better (particularly game 2).  I think I've found my basic set-up for league.  Thank you Mr. Revs, thank you Roto-Grip.

WOW Rags, don't thank me!!  You picked it out! (with a little help I guess)!

Sounds perfect...if you have fresh backends and they don't break down too much, the SS and Rush would complement eachother nicely!

Nice start

I like it. 2 strike balls and a spare ball. I will bet you will do better this year.

I going to try and use one strike ball and a plastic. they are using a new oil so this will be interesting when winter comes.

it make you adjust more and certianly makes league night on a THS more interesting.

That's basically all I do anymore.  I still take my 4 ball bag because that's all I have.  If the backends are fresh, Nighthawk M2, if I need help in the backend, SS Pearl.  Animal stays in the bag as a safety valve.  Plastic for spares.  I used to switch balls a lot during the night, but it rarely helped me.  I swap the main balls every once in a while just for a change, buy my basic setup covers my needs for a THS.

I agree here too......

Depending on your house pattern....the need for different TYPES of balls will vary,(for example,...strong pearl, weaker pearl, or smooth solid longer stronger pearl, etc, etc...)   however, ...2 should be more than enough + plastic.....
