Sonic Boom, Ultra Sonic, Super Sonic?

The proshop I'm affilliated with has all 3 of these pretty cheap.  What differences if any between the 3?  They all seem to have the Sure Grip II cover (pearl and solid) with low diffs.  Any favorites among the 3?

The Ultra is probably the cleanest ball through the heads i have ever seen. i've drilled a few of theses for players with higher rev rates and they are amazed at the reaction. The Super Sonic is the earliest of them. It's more arcing and pretty good overall, reaction on mediums. the boom is the backend monster of the group, it's a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I have a Sonic Boom(.35 diff symmetric)...and a Sonic X solid(.20 diff).

I bowl on a (POC)(Piece of ...) shot...16 feet of oil...bone dry midlanes and then softish backends.  

I also own a Hot Rod Super Sport pearl(slightly lower rg).  I note the HRSS pearl is very similar in design to the super and ultra sonic.
Both with diffs of .35 and all assymetrical.

I have found the Hot Rod Super Sport pearl(really a solid in my eyes) to really skip the midlanes and really turn hard and continous even in carrydown.  

I have recently started using the Sonic X solid in nighttime practice sessions and found the ball really owns the pocket on this tough shot but struggles in really tearing the pocket apart...lots of very weak looking strikes on this longish carrydown shot!

I move about 4 boards inside the Sonic X solid with my HOT Rod SS pearl.
with my feet.

I had tried the Sonic X Solid in the morning when the long shot is put out and it could turn to the pocket but not carry.  On the 16 foot short run over remnants it had no trouble finding the pocket..just hitting real hard it doesn't do.  Note I have other houses with shorter length shots it throws lumber...everywhere!

The Sonic boom on this shot which has a breakpoint that is sloppy like most pearls in this house...struggles to make the break when trying to put on the swerve at the wettish breakpoint area it is trying to move on.

The Super Sonic appeals to me also!

The Ultra is not skid snap by most standards, but even for a pearl. It keeps you out of trouble on the light stuff. Enjoy andrew.

Exactly what I wanted to hear!!  A piece that's relatively clean but still smooth and controllable on light.  Thanks Tim.

I'll be hopefully drilling up the Ultra today.

Hmm... Local proshop I go to frequently actually sent a few out of a case back because they reacted more like a urethane ball than a reactive urethane ball.  Bad batch?

UltraSonic....

Another sleeper! Not as dynamic as say a Hammer Doom...but very smooth and efficient in it's polished box condition. Clean as can be thru the heads, and destructive at the pocket!

It gets thru the heads so clean, you are very surprised at the demolition that it wreaks at the pocket. This is a ball I intend to have multiples of as well, because, I found that it was more consistent.....held a line longer.....and was more adjustable than some of my Brunswick stuff.

Took mine down to 800 grit, and found it to be an extremely reliable medium oil ball as well. Eventually took it back up to it's box condition cause of too much overlap with other balls I already had. (I had originally got it for the dryish conditions anyway)You'll be very satisfied with this ball.

My ultra is SUPER smooth~!!!!!!!!!! I can use it for 1st shift leagues on a house shot, playing up the boards, with a little softer speed than I am used to but I absolutely love the smoothness of this ball. (I bought it off here used and it is definately not polished. did I mention how smooth this ball was yet........???????? Hopefully I get to use it for some of these sport conditions. I can not imagine it being jumpy off the dry, thats how smooth this (my) ball is.
