I've already talked to you about this ball.
For everyone else here is my overview on it.
My ball was drilled with the pin below my ring finger and the cg kicked out about 3/4 of an inch an extra hole was drilled 1" below my PAP.
We went with this combination(Roger helped with the layout suggestion) for longer oil patterns and/or carrydown conditions.Left it at box finish.

This ball(in this configuration) needs OIL in the heads.
The ball starts to rev up in the front part of the lane and makes a smooth turn in the midlane towards the pocket. When the head oil goes away this ball goes back in the bag. If you want something that really hooks in the backend this probably won't be THAT ball.I've got other stuff from Roto Grip that will turn the corner Harder but nothing else will start up as soon as my Rush.

The rush can be described in one word SMOOTH.  I have two and really like both of them.  The first one is drilled pin above ring finger cg swung out to 3 o'clock and xtra hole on PAP.  This ball is great for first ball out of the bag when you have a lot of head oil and strong backends.  This drilling for me revs up earlier and continues strong on the backend. HITS extremely hard.  

The second one is drilled with pin under ring finger, no xtra hole.  This ball goes an xtra 2 or 3 feet down the lane than the first drilling.  By doing this it continues much harder on the backend.  

Overall this is a GREAT ball and I look forward to new ROTO releases.

I couldn’t agree more with Admiral50 but I would also add that it’s SMOOTH AND STRONG.


We have about 7 or 8 balls in the area following the latest “5 Points to Better Bowling Seminar” and all are giving similar looks on the lane regardless of layout (12:00, 10:30, 1:30).    Because this core is made to arc, drilling to the strength of the ball makes layouts with the CG kicked out read the lane better and make more defined moves on the lane.

As can be expected with the RG and diff. numbers on this ball, you cannot drill a “snap” into it.    You only create a sharper, harder roll with longer pin distances (to PAP) or a quick early revving read with shorter pin distances (to PAP).    I'm seeing people have success both at box finish and with polish, with the polished covers getting a little better carry percentage as you would expect due to the energy retention achieved.


This is a fantastic match up with core and cover stock that will force people to give Roto Grip a look if they have been hesitant to before, or risk being left behind on the prize list.    Although the RG & diff. numbers are similar, this will be the new benchmark standard the Vortex II has enjoyed in the Industry the past 5 years.

In a carrydown situation I would be suggestiong the Top Fuel, something that flares more and is asymmetrical.
