All Roto Grips?
« on: March 04, 2009, 05:02:06 AM »
I picked up a Roto Grip Pluto and have thrown it only 5 games.  The first time I threw it, when it hit the pins I felt the approach shake.    It hits harder than anything else I have or have ever thrown.

Black Hammer (1990's)
Turbo X
Gold Pearlized Quake
Morich Awesome Finish
Black label Elite
Gold Label Elite
Ogre SS

Does it hit the hardest out of all of these, because is Roto Grip matched up with the way I throw the ball, is it the way it's drilled or is it just the Pluto?

thanks

High game 300, 298(no middle finger) 290, 290(no middle finger)
High series 804
High triplicate 774
High average 221
best game. when I was 6 I bowled a 158

I have a 16# morich awesome finish I want to trade.  1 season on it.    I am looking for 15# stuff

That Pluto was a very good ball! I went up to 16 thats why I got rid of it.

You did remember to put some soothing bubble bath in before soaking the ball, right?  If not, there's your problem.  Lane 1 balls are obviously female (diamond core, cost more, high maintenance, etc.)  therefore, if the bath was not to her liking, she probably got so mad at you she cracked her shell.  It's the bowling ball way of busting that throbbing vessel in her forehead...

I had never heard of it nor does anyone here throw one.   I would say it hits like a "truck", but trucks don't hit that hard.. ( I know a kid in highschool that literally got hit by a mack truck).

btw Nor Cal Bowler, beautiful plug job.   My ball driller was like. woah what happened to this ball, I had to show him it was plugged before, he couldn't tell at first quick look.  So great job out in Cali!

Thanks!  I try my best to color match when plugging. I wish I did better to save the logos

I would think if this even matters, because of the low DIF and high RG core it allows the ball to get down lane easier and save more energy.  That plus it has no filler it's all cover and core.

Any ball hits the same for me it's a matter of carry which the Pluto does better than a lot.
