My roto grip pro cg is a great ball. It had the cg shift left(as I am right handed) 2.5 inches and the pin is 4.5 inches top weight is 2.2. I know that is a bit weak but it is a great ball. I drilled it with the pin up 3 inches. It is a great ball on medium to medium heavy oil.

Depends on how you want to drill it.  You want an earlier, smoother ball then get a 1-2" pin.  That will help keep the CG around the midline and may help avoid too much thumb weight.  You want to put the pin higher, then a 3-4" pin can help keep the CG around the midline, avoiding too much finger weight.

No, the static weights are practically irrelevant on today's strong asyms like the Cell.  But it still has to be legal and you don't want to be forced to put the weight hole in a certain place if you don't want to.
