I have 2 Neptunes. One is drilled pin one inch from my axis and the other is pin 5 inches above bridge with cg 4.5 from axis. The high pin one is my favorite for when the heads and mids start to dry. I am more comfortable moving way left and this one always has enough length and back end. The one inch pin to axis ball is very condition specific for me. It works better on a sport shot with lots of oil up front and flying backends. Having the pin this close to my axis really tames the break point. To sum it up, in my opinion, A high pin anywhere from 4.5 to 6 inches from your axis would be the way to go. And keep it polished up. I like Beans on mine
